OEM Development Guidelines

As mentioned previously, Falcon utilizes two types of liquid propellants (gases) in the development of its cleaning dusters and signal horns - 152A (difluoroethane) and 134A (tetrafluoroethane). As such, there are different can manufacturers for each type of gas. Because of this each manufacturer has its own capabilities of graphic reproduction. Below is a listing of those capabilities and/or limitations for each type of can.

If you have selected to use 134A for your duster you need to familiarize yourself with the following graphic spec's:

  • Use die(s) supplied by Falcon/TM Resources
  • Cans printed on round formed can
  • Four colors maximum
  • NO 4C (4 Color) process, all is spot printing
  • Please specify all PMS colors
  • 5 point minimum type
  • 6 point minimum reverse type
  • 85 line screen maximum (you will see the dot with naked eye)
  • Try to avoid screens, as screen tint percentages may vary
  • NO overprinting of one color on top of another color
  • NO gradations

Note: Because can is printed in round there is no visible can seam, as such Falcon recommends that when treating the back panel warning information that you consider one of the following options:

  • If you prefer to have the back panel to be produced with a solid color allow for a small white seam or bleed through between the front and back panel. By doing so you will eliminate the potential for ink to overlap.
  • Create a back panel the features a white base with colored text. This will ensure clean lines where the front and back panels meet and eliminate the potential for ink to overlap.

If you have selected 152A (difluoroethane) for your duster you need to familiarize yourself with the following graphic spec's:

  • Use die(s) supplied by Falcon/TM Resources
  • Cans printed on flat metal
  • Four colors maximum
  • Can do 4C (4 Color) Process
  • Point size minimums for readability only. No limits for printing.
  • Screens and gradations acceptable

Note: Comments made regarding point size do not refer to regulatory information. All warning copy and regulatory information has been developed to meet specific point size and style requirements.
